2021

Playoff Recap

I appreciate everyone for another enjoyable season of Blumpkin League fantasy football! This year we welcomed in a new member as Josh retired from the game. Welcome Jon, we’re happy to have you!

The 2021 championship saw the #1 seed Mike (BortleKombat) Depol defeat #3 seed Matt (NoobMaster69) Caraballo, 162.6 -126.64.

Mike had one of the most dominant performances we’ve ever seen in our league's history, finishing the regular season with a 12-2 record. That dominance continued into the playoffs, where he averaged 146.93 points/game. Earlier this season, Mike put the league on notice when he shared, “I’m getting an MBA to be a better fantasy football player.” His use of analytics will be a force to reckon with for decades to come.

Matt has been a model of consistency over the last seven years. In 2021, he scored the most regular-season points, averaging over 133 points/game and earning the #3 seed at a 9-5 record. If the past indicates future performance, we’ll continue to see Matt in the playoffs.

This is Mike’s second Blumpkin, becoming our league's first back-to-back champion. Congratulations, the trophy is staying in Texas for one more year.

In our third-place matchup, James (That Johnson) DelMasto beat Jon (Team Shields) Shields, 104.54-95.66. James finished the regular season with an impressive and personal best, 11-3 record. Jon made his presence known and proved to be an immediate force in the league.

Congrats to the winners, and BIG thanks to everyone for making this such a fun league. Happy New Year, everyone!
