2022
Playoff Recap
I want to share my gratitude for how our league decided to proceed with the championship matchup. We had a competitive game between Brian (4th and 26) Lada & James (That Johnson) DelMasto, which came down to a few players on Monday Night Football. A tragic event occurred and is still unfolding, and rather than focus on the admittedly trivial fantasy football matchup, the two teams decided to call it a draw. Thank you, BFF League. I imagine not all leagues are proceeding through this as seamlessly.
Onto the 2022 recap.
#1 seed James (That Johnson) DelMasto tied #3 seed Brian (4th & 26) Lada in the championship matchup.
James has been incredibly consistent over the last several years and achieved the honor of having the best regular season record at 11-3. Despite coming into the playoffs without franchise QB, Kyler Murray, James was able to post two strong outings to secure his share of the champion honor. This is James’ 1.5th championship title.
Speaking of consistency, Lada continues to have amazing success in the league. In thirteen years, Lada has been a playoff team for twelve. This season he scored the most Points For, averaging 135 points per regular season game. The next highest PF was over 100 points below his mark. This is Lada’s 3.5th championship title.
In our third-place matchup, Matt (NoobMaster69) Caraballo beat Jon (Team Shields) Shields.
Matt has been a model of consistency- there is a theme this season. Over the last eight years, he is seemingly always in contention for a top-three performance. This year was no different, as he defeated Jon in the third-place matchup. Matt and Jon mirrored the same average PF in the league, each at 126 points per regular season game. Jon continues to have success in the playoffs, achieving the mark of 4th place in the two years he’s been in our league.
Congrats to the winners, and BIG thanks to everyone for making this both a league to be proud of and one that is a lot of fun. Deepest hopes and thoughts to Damar Hamlin.
